Barbara Biscone of Lincolnville
A native of Aroostook County, Maine, who moved to Waldo County in February 1999. Attended the University of Maine in Presque Isle while raising her four children as a single mother. While in school, served as a VISTA volunteer and worked as a park ranger until obtaining her BA of Liberal Studies in Social Psychology. Completed an internship in Women’s Studies while at UMPI in 1998. She was the original organizer for the SHARE program in Aroostook County; is a previous director for Women’s Business Development and the Maine Initiative Foundation; and also worked as a peer educator for Working Capital and as a community organizer for the Maine Homestead Land Trust Alliance. For the past six years, she has created Bella Weaving Co., a business weaving textiles in Lincolnville.
Nancy Boyington of Monroe
Currently is the Assistant Director of the University of Maine Hutchinson in Belfast. She has worked for the University for 19 years and has been at the Hutchinson Center since it opened in 2000. She earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in literacy education. She lives in Monroe with her husband, a retired police officer, and has two grown daughters, both graduates of the University of Maine. They designed, built and own the Searsport Antique Mall and Searsport Self Storage.
Deborah Knight Eaton of Northport
Has had a 37-year career in the alternative healing field, apprenticing with great healers from around the world. She has written a memoir about those remarkable healers and uses many of the skills she learned from them in her private practice. She loves gardening and living in Northport with her husband, Ed.
Ann Webber Hooper of Searsport
Belfast native who graduated from Belfast Area High School and Thayer Hospital School of Radiology Technology. Left Maine for a time to see the sights and sounds of a bigger city, Boston. Worked at New England Deaconess Hospital, starting as a staff technologist and ending as the manager of the Angiography Unit. Since returning to Maine years ago has been employed by Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast. Currently serves as the department manager of the Imaging Department as well as on the hospital Board of Directors.
Toni Mailloux of Belfast
After a 27-year career in local journalism, including the last 17 years as editor of The Waldo Independent, which she helped co-found in 1985, she is working in the Community Services Department at Waldo County General Hospital. A graduate of Foxcroft Academy and the University of Maine, she and her husband, Randy, have two grown children and three incredible grandchildren, Tyler, Willoe and Sam.
Babs Ossenfort of Northport
Born and raised in Connecticut, she is an active professional nurse with 51 years experience in healthcare administration. Retired from the position of Medicare Consultant for the State of Maine, she is currently employed by Waldo County General Hospital. She is married to a pharmacist and is the mother of four children.
Georgina Sweeney of Camden
Born in Northern Ireland, spending part of her childhood in the Middle East, being raised from age 10 in England and then living and working foreign countries for most of her adult life has allowed her to experience first-hand a variety of cultures, lifestyles and diets. From this, she can help her clients discover a path to health and wellness through her company Imagine You. Following a 16-year successful marketing career with a Fortune 500 company, Sweeney received a diploma in Holistic Healing and while becoming a licensed Aesthetician, Reiki Practitioner and Total Image Consultant she created her company Imagine You. She now lives in Camden with her fiancé Kevin.
Andrea Walker of Searsmont
Currently is the Community Services Department manager at Waldo County General Hospital, following stints at Mid-Coast Mental Health, the University of Maine and MDI hospital. She earned her degree in Community Health Education from the University of Northern Colorado. She and her husband, Christopher, a Nurse Practitioner, live in Searsmont with their three children, Kelly, Carrie and Thomas.
