Pre-Conference and Networking Dinner
Friday, May 16
StoneCrest, 968 Waterville Rd., Waldo

A pre-conference catered dinner will be held to give those connected with the Midcoast Maine Women’s Health Conference, especially the presenters,
an opportunity to network and discuss some of the issues facing women’s health practitioners today.

Schedule
6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
A time to enjoy some appetizers while socializing with other attendees.

6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A catered dinner with entertainment by McFravis Violin Music.

8 p.m.
A keynote address Doris Buffett, the founder and president of the Sunshine Lady Foundation, a private, family foundation that provides “opportunities for the advancement of education, well being and new life choices for the working pool and families in crisis.” Each Sunshine Lady Foundation grant is considered an investment and the decision to grant funds is always based on an expected return: to change lives. Acknowledging that luck is not equally distributed and that she has been the beneficiary of a disproportionate share, Doris Buffett is passionate about her responsibilities as a philanthropist. The foundation also operates and funds several college scholarship programs, the largest of which is available nationally for survivors of domestic violence. An article in Worth magazine labeled the Sunshine Lady Foundation as “uniquely hands-on, folksy, a person-to-person enterprise—the un-foundation.” Since 1996, the Sunshine Lady Foundation has awarded more then $50 million in grants, including building Boys and Girls Clubs, surgical units for Waldo County General Hospital, and an extensive university program for maximum security prisons from Sing Sing to San Quentin.

Tickets for the dinner are complimentary to presenters and $25 each for all others.
Join us for a fun evening of delicious food, wonderful entertainment, an informative speaker and delightful company. It’s the perfect way to kick off the Midcoast Maine Women’s Health Conference.
